Lake Kelimutu is located in the northern island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The best time to enjoy the scenery on this lake in the morning at sunrise. To get an amazing view of sunrise, you have to leave at around 3:30 pm. Transportation access to the Lake Kelimutu is not easy, but tourists can rent a vehicle through local travel agents. Remember, do not forget to check the condition of the vehicle before use.
The journey can be taken from the town of Ende which takes approximately two hours, a trip down the winding streets, ravines and cliffs and the remains, as well as road conditions are not so smooth in parts, until you get to the village of Moni, village located at the foot of Mount Kelimutu. If you plan to visit this lake do not forget to bring heavy clothing, sebeb around this lake weather was quite cold.
From the village of Moni, Lake Kelimutu just take 45 minutes. The road begins to narrow and uphill. However, fatigue will be treated with views on either side.
